International Women's Day/Aljazeera

Hi Guys

Just thought I will share this with you, basically myself and the chairperson for our Tanzania Women Association (TAWA) Ms. M Kilumanga, were recently invited to the studios of Al-Jazeera International, the English Channel version based here in London, on their People & Power Programme to share our views on the International Women’s Day, which to be celebrated officially on this Sunday the 8th March. It’s a very small clip involving women from different professions commenting on women’s rights issues. It takes about seconds but still it’s a good progress for us all I think and we should celebrate the fact that it is actually happening now where by a woman originally from Africa and especially Bongo Tanzania for that matter, can be invited into one of the major Worldwide Television Stations to air our views, indeed we are getting somewhere..........!!! YES WE CAN
Okay here are the details;
The programme first goes to air at 0130 GMT Saturday the 7th March (I know you are wondering why the time, but as a global channel somewhere in the world someone will be watching hopefully!)
It then runs on Saturday 7th March: 01.30GMT, 12.30 GMT and 19.30 GMT, Sunday 8th March: 03.30 GMT, 10.30 GMT and 23.30 GMT, Monday 9th March: 07.30 GMT.
The times above are for UK viewers so international please change according to your local times, and
For those who cannot see the programme when it’s aired especially those in Tanzania you can watch it on their website www.aljazeera.net, then select English, then go to programmes choose People & Power. Look for the topic called Righting women’s rights (it's about 11 minutes)
The video is also on YouTube. com, if you search in Aljazeera English people & power. In YouTube it’s also called; righting women’s rights-March 7-part 2.
Kind regards
Mariam Mungula.
